VISA ARRIVED
My VISA arrived yesterday, sooner as expected. They said it would take 3-4 working day's, but after a day it had arrived.
Well... we're all ready now: paper work is finished.. The only thing we have to do is: packing our bags en take the airplane!
The exchange students of the PHL (we) finished their last semester, their days at the PHL are counted! For the rest of the students of TIN: I wish you all the best with your projects, break-a-legg ;-)!
VISA APPROVAL
It was an early morning, I got up at 06.15h to take my train to 'Brussel-Centraal' at 7.17h.
Once arrived at Brussel we took it on a walk, trough the park of Brussel, it was a full 11 minutes of walking. Once arrived at American ground the security was higher then expected, at every corner of a building there was a guard, before entrance we had sweep our hands at a filter-a-like-paper that was ment to check if we had any contact with explosives our something :-D..
Then everything went smoothly, the employees were very friendly at the embassy (which we never expected?). After checking all the paperwork and a fingerprint scan and at last a couple of questions of the council I got my answer: "Welcome to America and enjoy your stay at Kentucky!".
PS: It's 18days 15hours 57minutes and 30seconds till my departure to the USA.
FLIGHT BOOKED
Yes yes yes, a bottle is een fles. Haha, no serious now. We booked our flight just right now. We'll be flying with continental airlines from Brussel to New York and from New York to Lexington Kentucky. For a detailled flight shedule: tada.
We also know our seat in the plain in our first flight we'll sit like this, and in our connection flight we should sit like this.
Stay tuned!
COURSES UPDATE
Well we have chosen our courses we will follow:
- Electronic Business Technologies and Tools
- Data Base Management
- Computer Architecture
- Computer Network & System Administration
We also know the date of our orientation week, this week will start 4th January, so we will leave the 3th (which is 57days 8hours 3minutes from the moment I speak).
At EKU we'll stay in de Brockton Apartments, some footage of the place by pressing this link.
COURSES
We already have to chose some courses, you can view them here.
I think we will have to chose 3 or 4 of them. But we can only choose courses with numbers between 300 and 600, because below 300 the course is too easy and above 600 it's too hard.
Probably I will choose one of these courses:
- Database Management
- Networks and Telecommunication
- ...
SOME NEWS FROM MAGELLAN
Finally after some few weeks... We have an answer, my roomy and I are NOT (yes indeed NOT) accepted at ASU. So we go to our second option EKU - Eastern Kentucky University.
Not that is matter 'cause USandA is USandA for us, right? As long we're there in January '09 it's all good. When we have a further look at our academical calendar we see that the "Begin of classes" is at 12/01/09. So I think we'll be there around 5/01.
And again great news our HandyCam arrived. More footage will be uploaded soon.
STARS AND STRIPES
50 sterren, 7 rode strepen en 6 witte strepen telt de Amerikaanse vlag. Dit zal vanaf januari voor ongeveer een 5 maanden ons nieuwe symboliek zijn. We?
